Brady Tkachuk Plans to Donate Protest Jerseys

Brady Tkachuk, now with the Florida Panthers, anticipates a turbulent return to Ottawa after his trade from the Senators. During a ‘Wingmen’ podcast episode, he announced a plan to donate any Ottawa Senators jerseys thrown on the ice in protest to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. Tkachuk mentioned that while he doesn’t endorse the jersey throwing, he’s prepared for it when he plays against his former team.
Tkachuk was traded to the Panthers in June, and he chose to join his brother Matthew in South Florida. The move, facilitated by his no-movement clause, was aimed specifically at the Panthers, marking a direct change in his career path. Ottawa GM Steve Staios noted the trade was particularly directed towards a single team.
Tkachuk expressed his appreciation for the Boys and Girls Club, describing it as a ‘special place’ due to the significant relationships he and his wife, Emma, developed during his tenure in Ottawa. Despite the potential hostile reception from Ottawa fans, Tkachuk sees the benefit of the situation, encouraging fans that their protest will support a good cause.
